How the Cost Model Works
The calculator starts with a local low/high base range, then applies multipliers for affected-area band, room or system type, severity, and older-home risk where city data includes median year built. Supported Mold Compass city pages use city-level ranges seeded from our 250-city dataset; other inputs can fall back to the selected state or national baseline.
The model follows the public MoldGuide calculator structure, adapted to Mold Compass data so the assumptions are documented and traceable. Treat the result as a planning range; containment, hidden material removal, moisture-source repair, disposal, and clearance testing can move real bids substantially.
